Projects: MOTORE
Title: MObile roboT for upper limb neurOrtho REhabilitation
Type: POR-CREO Regione Toscana 2008-2010
The MOTORE project, head by the Humanware spinoff (www.hmw.it), aims at developing a mobile haptic device for robotic rehabilitation that is easy to be setup and used on desktop scenarios. This general objective requires to address several technological and research challenges. First the ability to render forces to the user by means of the wheels, then the design of a sensing system that is able to provide precise absolute information about the location of the system compensating the drift of the odometry. The device is indeed provided with a sensor fusion mechanism that integrates absolute delayed location with local relative information. The MOTORE device is currently in the stage of testing in a rehabilitation center.
