Sensing, Modelling and Learning for Humans

leader: Emanuele Ruffaldi

research:

This group investigates sensing, modeling and learning as they emerge in human environments. The investigation combines Virtual Environments with machine learning  and biomechanical analysis. The goal of the group is twofold, looking both at the scientific investigation in the domain of human behavior and at the engineering aspect of tools and techniques for improving sensing, modeling and learning. This goal is achieved by means of a methodology for training tasks in Virtual Environments that allows to span from design, implementation to the analysis of performance. This group has worked extensively in the domain of sport training by means of Virtual Environment in the context of the SKILLS project focusing on the multiple challenges of the rowing demonstrator.
